Ballad of the bicycle: An unexpected encounter
I pedaled my bike on a lonely road. The trails were muddy and the sky threatened rain. On one side of the road was a forest. I decided to get into it. I reached a small clearing surrounded by thick vegetation, with trees in between. The floor was covered with dry leaves and the atmosphere was damp and dark. The solitude and silence filled the air. I left my bike on one side and heard a grunt behind me, followed by a short snort.
-Whatever it is huge, I thought as I turned slowly.
Astonished, I watched the biggest boar he had seen in my life. The animal growled again. It was huge: a Mazacote of muscles and bones that weigh more than sixty kilos, probably more.
The boar turned away and walked two steps. I raised my hand, almost without breathing, take a picture, but the animal stopped and turned. He grunted and snorted loudly. I felt tense and ready to make a decision. I stood still, looking at his tiny eyes. His eyes were dark and deep, powerful, penetrating, vast, ancient. It was as if all the ages of the world were there, contained in the bottom of your eyes. It was too beautiful and perfect.
I do not know how long we were so looking. We were so close I could see their jaws dilate when breathing. He could not take my eyes of her eyes, unfathomable, dark and deep. Then, I felt a wonderful feeling, I sank into the abyss without light of her eyes and forgot about thinking, living, feeling, and I loved that animal with all my soul, as you can only love what is noble and infinitely pure.
Suddenly, the animal looked away from me. He shook his head and grunted short, dry and apparently disgusted by my presence. I turned and walked slowly, powerful and conscious of the strength of his being.
I left the forest slowly returned perplexed and trying to keep in my memory every detail of that encounter.
When I got home I told my son my adventure and he asked: "Did the boar tusks? Now that I think I do not know. Just remember his eyes. A look to keep it in my soul, like a magnificent treasure with me forever.
