Pay attention to the Health and Safety Training
A phrase that everyone hates to hear is 'I send you the health and safety training' For a large majority of people seems a waste of time and we all feel like we could use our time better. However, after looking around I'm starting to feel that there is a growing number of people who could actually benefit from having the health and safety training.
How many times have you walking down the street and see someone stoop to pick up something at odds with his back legs. These people will turn around at some point and complain to people who have a bad back. Well they have only themselves to blame, I guess we all have attended the course in which we have been taught to bend their knees and dig up the same level as the box, before you use your legs to take the strain when lifting.
You see classic examples of this every day in the street, the supermarket and throughout the office. Each of these people should be made to sit through another meeting health and safety. This is what has happened to me when I worked in an office.
One Friday night I had to move a series of boxes and maliciously, rather than taking them one at a time I loaded two boxes together, I thought it was clever and I could see down the pub a bit 'faster. Unfortunately for me I was captured by one of the directors who have seen me fight and insisted that I take it easy during training and enrolled in another health and safety the following week. And 'course was after this that I decided to become health and safety authorities, so it seems everything happens for a reason.
Another common problem that I see around all the time are the cables hanging down all over the place that might lead to trip hazards. Once again I'm sure all of us have stumbled into something that in our lifetimes and we can appreciate how horrible this experience can be.
Maybe if these people have taken part in a healthy bit 'more safety training and then we could all have fewer accidents. I know that everyone hates the health and safety training, I see their faces every time they enter one of my presentations, but it does not seem to prevent them from violating the rules every five minutes. Maybe if people did not care then I need to keep wasting my time as further training for people who have already had .......
