Learning - How to know the intelligence of your child can help Make-Up

Each child is unique. Even in the same family, children are often so different as chalk and cheese. Howard Gardner, psychologist, argued that just as every human being has a distinct and unique DNA profile, so that every human being has a unique profile of thinking, a way to demonstrate intelligence.

Parents and educators would be better able to provide the best learning environment for children, if they first established their profile more intelligence.

Gardner identified seven intelligences which he called multiple intelligences, although he added later.

- Visual / spatial intelligence - students usually think in pictures. They like visual stimuli such as pictures, movies, videos and maps. Children with this intelligence demonstrate an appreciation of reading, drawing, puzzles, maps and charts.

- Verbal / Linguistic intelligence - students have a highly developed ability with words and language rules. Children with this intelligence love to hear stories, tell stories, learn new words and describe the events.

- Logical / mathematical intelligence - that intelligence has to do with logic and reasoning. These children tend to be analytical and logical. They enjoy activities that involve numbers, making patterns and problem solving.

- Bodily / kinesthetic intelligence - these students are good at learning through movement and physical interaction with their environment. Children with this intelligence enjoy activities such as dancing, physical games, running and acting.

- Musical / Rhythmic intelligence - the students are sensitive to sounds, rhythmic patterns and pitch. Children with this intelligence to respond positively to music and poetry. They enjoy singing, making up songs and rhymes and play musical instruments.

- The interpersonal intelligence - these students have the ability to relate to others and are often sensitive to the feelings of others. Children who have this intelligence enjoy being around people and enjoy group work and discussions.

- The intrapersonal intelligence - these students are reflective and have the ability to analyze their feelings. Often prefer to work the problems and arrive at an understanding of a subject on their own.

Gardner believes that people use all these intelligences at the same time and that they complement each other as people develop their skills and learn to solve problems. A child may be primarily visual, but the other intelligences can play a significant role in the learning process depending on the task in hand. Knowing the mind of a child's make-up and how the activities can be made to integrate the stronger the ability of the child, can make your learning more effective and efficient .......
