Why The Christian Church must engage in spiritual warfare?

Why the church must engage in spiritual warfare?

Alexis Fernando Jimenez

I was not surprised that Pastor Ricardo stop taking their food at that nice restaurant when I said that today if I could refer to a ministry in which I felt strong, were in the War of Liberation and Spiritual.

With us a good number of guests chatted animatedly, but between the two reigned a deafening silence, as if time had stopped, and all about moving in slow motion, like in the movies.

- And all the studies he has written about the family, interpersonal relationships with children, leadership and counseling, where they were? Planning to invite the congregation to dictate lectures, but now that I speak of making war against evil, darkness and all that stuff, I think I should seriously reconsider my decision ... --- looked down and began to cut into small pieces meat, in silence, with some disgust.

- I fear, pastor has been fanatical Jiménez-prosiguió. 'These issues, leave it to the Pentecostals, or charismatics perhaps, but you margínese ... - The food was nothing Christian minister at that moment, but simply to cut meat with the same care as a surgeon in full operation.

I told him the simplest thing that could, that - like me-once reluctant to broach the subject of Spiritual Warfare.

- I thought it was a matter of fans, he explained - but I think now more than ever we need to take an offensive role and not just passive against the attacks of those who are victims of Satan and his hosts - .

- No, definitely marginalize me. I think there are other more important things to discuss, such as the apostolic and prophetic ministry or perhaps economic prosperity. I do not think it appropriate that we give such importance to the devil. Excuse me, Pastor Jimenez, but I disagree with you -. Continued to take lunch, looking absently at passersby from the wide veranda of the restaurant, on the second floor where he works.

I regretted the incident, because like the beloved pastor Ricardo, many ministers, evangelical workers and leaders are isolated when they touch on Spiritual Warfare and Deliverance.

Immediately I remembered the case of an evangelist who was interrupted during the campaign, by a woman possessed. The man was stunned. Only managed to look back on all sides, not knowing what to do. The woman was screaming with his eyes bulging.

The imposed solved it by calling a minister of another denomination release itself was engaged in spiritual warfare.

It's time to get up to do battle

I am convinced of the urgent need to get up and play our role and protagonist in the battle against the world of darkness. You would be surprised to know the number of emails I receive from all countries with questions about how to successfully wage the fight against spiritual Adversary, Satan, and its well-organized army of evil.

Consider it appropriate to echo the words of the minister release Imgran Chip, who writes: "It would not be appropriate to discuss spiritual warfare without considering the issue of release ... There is so much confusion and controversy among deliverance ministries, some people completely disregard the idea . I think there are some specific tools that ordinary Christians can use to be part of the release when it is obvious demonic oppression. "(Ingram, Chip. The Invisible War. Thomas Nelson Publishers. 2007. Pg. 193)

We can not dismiss the fact, if properly documented a journey through the Gospels, that approximately 25% of the ministry of the Lord Jesus was related to physical illness, not only as a result of physical deterioration but also as a result of demonic influence.

The first Christians in Egypt demonstrated their knowledge sovereign left the spiritual battle, when through one of its exponents, Antonio, was left in writing: "We, invoking the name of Christ crucified, cast out all demons to you fear as gods. "

I fled not, however, confronted the spiritual world of darkness.

A ministry release

The earthly ministry of our beloved Lord Jesus was intimately linked to the release of the captives by the spirits, "the evening when the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all the sick and possessed, so that the entire population was bringing together the puerta.Jesús healed many who were ill with various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but do not let him speak because they knew who he was. "(Mark 1:32-34, New International Version)

The passage gives us a close relationship between the diseases, which may be due to physical deterioration or possession or demonic influence, and the release of the chains that bind to thousands of people in the world. In addition to healing for those suffering any harm, our beloved Savior broke the bonds of those who were slaves of the devil, and were in his possession.

Their performance has always been related, bringing the good news yet, demolishing strongholds of evil wherever it was, as Mark tells it: "So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons." (Mark 1: 39, New International Version)

Why if our dear Redeemer confronted the world of darkness, the church today are marginalized in a reality we must assume a leadership role and not merely defensive?

We have the authority to do battle

Our beloved Lord Jesus validated that it was necessary to preach the Gospel and the captives of the devil, waging spiritual warfare involved in this engagement, when he gave to his disciples and us today, spiritual authority, "Yes, I have given authority to you to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy, nothing will harm you. "(Luke 10:19, New International Version)

Clearly, the Savior knew that fans would face a fierce battle in the spiritual order, because Satan has always been opposed, wants to put a stumbling block to the plans of God (cf. John 10:10 a, Ephesians 6.20).

What would you do? Do you intend to stay there, passive, holding the attacks of Satan, or go for the battle, knowing that in Christ we have secured the victory, as He said?

My sincere recommendation is to assess the situation and realize that, under no circumstances can marginalize the Christian church in the battle against the world of darkness. It's time to get involved in the Intercession and Spiritual Warfare, recovering the space Satan has stolen.
