Entrepreneurial Education: The Greatest Obstacles Parents today face To Encourage Your Child's Entrepreneurship
Parents must take into account many factors in your current lifestyle that directly oppose efforts to educate their children as entrepreneurs.
Here are named the 7 most common barriers:
1. The media:
We are in the Information Age. Like all things, this has a positive and negative connotation. The upside is obvious: the ability to communicate information and have put the world literally at our fingertips.
However, from the point of view of entrepreneurship education, the worst of times in front of screens is what our children do not do by being there.
Instead of being absorbed in a project creatively your passion and skills required to use such devices opponents become too attractive to induce the child to adopt a comfortable and self-indulgent. This can easily transform into a habit that is diametrically opposed to the habits of an entrepreneur themselves.
I therefore recommend restricting television viewing and computer if you want to promote entrepreneurial skills of their children.
2. The self-indulgence leads to self-indulgence
One reason why many kids are so boring it's not because they need something, but because they have too. Although at first sight seem logical, excess toys, clothes and sweets have a negative effect on children. They begin to get bored and want more and more. They fail to appreciate what they have and are unhappy.
Indulgence in adolescence can have a lot worse. If parents buy them everything they want, let them do what they want and give them money to pay all their expenses, they do a poor favor. A teenager raised in this way does not develop, atrophy rather pursue their own pleasure rather than take responsibility for his life, as it should.
I recommend that parents be generous with their children, but within certain limits. There must be a "scratch-court" and adolescent should be required to fulfill certain responsibilities on their own. The essential thing is the attitude of his / her. Bad attitudes should not be ignored, but confronted and resolved.
3. The world around us:
Considering that almost all people around us were brought up without developing the entrepreneurial mindset, it stands to reason that there is "domino effect" in all other areas of life.
This means that other mentors of our children, as a sports instructor, other members of the family and the community at large will not have an entrepreneurial mindset.
If you want to give their children an education entrepreneur, you will have to be willing to swim against the tide and will have to teach their children to do well.
4. Little time commitment of parents to their children
It is alarming how little time parents spend today with their children. I think there has been in the history of mankind a period in which parents have been so little involved in the lives of their children, as it is today. Almost scary thought for the consequences of this for future generations.
If you are a parent too busy, I ask you to ponder these words:
"In a hundred years will not matter ...
How was my bank account
I lived in that house
What was the car that drove
But the world may be different, because I was important in the life of a child. "
(Marilyn Howshall)
5. Lack of communication:
The obvious consequence of the lack of quality time, is that there is a permanent and effective communication between parents and children. Everyone lives their own way and has its own group of friends away from home.
Unfortunately there are many families living under these conditions and there are parents who struggle with feelings of guilt in this area.
But it has to be!
If your family is like that just described, I worn emergency lights and take drastic measures. Our family is the most precious thing on earth and we have to fight nail and claw to hold it together and prevent the members to be apart.
6. Lack of motivation:
Many parents complain about the lack of motivation of their children.
Although the issue is complex and merits alone write a book to help parents encourage their children, I am confident that my guide "How to raise children entrepreneurs" will help you find different options to achieve this.
It really is much more simple than you think. Think about it:
When was your first baby you did not have this problem. A child born healthy seems to have an internal engine that helps you learn to survive in the new world around him. Later the child is becoming more curious. Boredom is not part of their existence. There are so many things that should be explored!
According to A. Einstein, we should never lose this curiosity about life and the world around us.
7. Not knowing how to do
One of the biggest obstacles that parents face when wanting to promote entrepreneurial skills in their children is: They do not possess!
From my own experience I have seen parents and children can learn to take together. It is also necessary to do so. Although parents do not put into practice immediately, we need to grasp the concept of entrepreneurial education and recognize its importance.
